The Scientific Council, the Committee and the Board of the PROCORAD association are pleased to announce the opening of a competition for the 2012 Laurent Exmelin Scientific Award. The purpose of the Award is to pay homage to Laurent Exmelin for all his achievements in the field of radiotoxicology. It will be made annually to reward an achievement, publication, master's degree dissertation or doctoral thesis relating to this field.
Field of work:
The Laurent Exmelin Scientific Award is made to a young* scientist who has made a major scientific contribution to ultra-trace measurements of radionuclides. This, in the broad sense, includes the development of test protocols and new processes (separative methods, radiation metrology, etc.), the validation of analytical procedures and the interpretation of results in term of internal dosimetry.
Amount:
The amount of the Laurent Exmelin Scientific Award is 3,000 euros.
Requirements for 2012:
Candidates must submit an application in French or English. Files (introductory letter, curriculum vitae and two copies of dissertation or thesis) must be accompanied by a candidate proposal form (on the model attached) signed by a member of the PROCORAD association.
The selection committee will be made up of the members of the PROCORAD Scientific Council, which will submit its recommendation to the PROCORAD Committee. The Committee will make the final decision.

Deadline for recommendation to the Committee: April 27th 2012
Date of award decision: May 27th 2012
Date for presentation of the Award: during the 2012 annual meeting of PROCORAD
Contents of application:
Applications must include:
- A candidate proposal form completed by a member of the PROCORAD association.
- A scientific presentation of the candidate with emphasis on scientific achievements relevant to the Award.
Important:
1) No candidate will be accepted if:
- the candidate proposal form from a PROCORAD member is not completed,
- the documents required for the application are not attached.
2) Applications must be in English or French.
